Presumed Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said last Thursday that he was fulfilling a promise and forgiving more than $45 million in personal loans he made to his own campaign. But one week later, the Federal Elections Commission has posted no record of a transaction, and the Trump campaign has declined to provide any paperwork to prove it happened. Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks said last week that Trump had submitted the formal paperwork, but then told NBC News days later the papers “will be filed with the next regularly scheduled FEC report.” NBC News reports that an FEC staff member said there were no new filing changes to Trump’s loans.
