An explosive report by the Washington Post alleges that the Trump’s administration is weeding out candidates for top intelligence and law enforcement jobs by asking if the Jan. 6 Capitol riot was an “inside job” and if the 2020 election was “stolen.”

Those looking to apply to top national security positions with the administration are allegedly facing additional questions that test their loyalty to Trump.

These questions seem quite tailored to determine candidates’ inclinations on the president’s false claims about the 2020 election being stolen from him, according to people familiar with the interview process.

According to the report, the questions asked current and former officials up for top positions what they think about the result of the 2020 election and the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. Although these questions were presented to candidates as “yes” or “no” options, individuals who did not respond with an affirmative “yes” were not selected for the job. It is not clear if they weren’t offered the jobs because of other reasons.

Those who spoke to the Post on the condition of anonymity confirmed the following questions were asked: Was Jan. 6 “an inside job?” and was the 2020 presidential election “stolen?” were posed in direct interviews.

A former officer in the know spoke about the questions posed to one of the candidates and said, “He was not willing to compromise his integrity by saying things he knew weren’t true. He’s not losing any sleep over his decision.”
