NBC has reportedly offered Republican presidential candidates 12 minutes of free air time equal to the amount of time given to Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live, according to CNNMoney. Citing campaign sources, CNNMoney reports NBC has offered at least Sen. Lindsey Graham and George Pataki 12 minutes on their requested stations during the 9 p.m. slot on Nov. 27 and during the Saturday Night Live broadcast on Nov. 28, in accordance with the FCC’s “equal time” rule. However, the candidates have not been invited to appear on SNL. Graham, Pataki, Gov. John Kasich, Mike Huckabee, and Jim Gilmore filed requests with NBC stations last week following Trump’s Nov. 7 appearance on SNL. The FCC rule states that presidential candidates are entitled to equal time for any appearance that doesn’t qualify as a news event.
