Tufts University is investigating reports that a student posted a photo of herself in blackface to Instagram, the Boston Globe reports. The school’s president, Anthony Monaco, said in a statement that the unidentified student would be disciplined if violations of school policy were found. “Blackface has a long history of being used to demean, belittle, and objectify people of color in the United States and worldwide,” he said. “I condemn this behavior in the most unambiguous terms possible.” The posting comes just days after two University of Oklahoma undergrads withdrew after taking part in a blackface video that was posted on Snapchat. And Florida’s secretary of state resigned Thursday after a photo of himself in blackface surfaced.
