Bumble Bee Foods, a major U.S. tuna fish company pleaded guilty on Monday to conspiracy to fix prices for canned tuna. Bumble Bee pleaded guilty to one felony charge and agreed to pay a $25 million criminal fine for its role in a price-fixing conspiracy conducted with other unnamed tuna companies. The companies colluded to fix canned tuna prices, beginning in early 2011 until at least late 2013. The Department of Justice said it was still conducting a probe into the tuna conspiracy. ""The (Antitrust) Division, along with our law enforcement colleagues, will continue to hold these companies and their executives accountable for conduct that targeted a staple in American households," Acting Assistant Attorney General Andrew Finch of the Department of Justice's Antitrust Division said in a statement.
