Authorities in Istanbul arrested activists and used tear gas to dispel them on Sunday when they gathered in honor of gay pride week. Authorities banned a rally in the city which prompted the gathering and at least 19 people were arrested. Istanbul's governor previously banned last week's Trans Pride March and this Sunday's pride parade due to fears of potential attacks in the city, which has been plagued by attacks from ISIS recently.
