Wednesday will mark the end of an era, as Oprah airs her final daytime talk show. Is television ready for life after O? Daytime television executives are looking to Ellen DeGeneres and Dr. Oz to fill the gap, as well as an upcoming daytime talk show with Anderson Cooper and an expected entry from Katie Couric. In the meantime, advertisers are paying as much as $1 million for 30 second spots during Oprah’s finale. She will air her “Surprise, Oprah! A Farewell Spectacular,” filmed before 13,000 people, on Monday and Tuesday, before turning to a more intimate setting on Wednesday.
