Twin Poets Set to Break Out

Two Portland poets have a lot in common: they're 33 years old, about to be published by the presitgious Copper Canyon Press, awaiting a profile in The New Yorker, and…they're twins. As John Marshall notes in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, what separates Matthew and Michael Dickman is their poetry. Michael's poems wrestle with "deeper concerns, thoughtful and philosophical." Matthew's are "big-hearted...with references to Coca-Cola, Jay-Z, and nature." Their burgeoning fame aside, they haven’t figured out how to make poetry pay the bills. Michael is cooking at an ale house and Matthew is keeping his gig at Whole Foods.
