Twitter Officially Adds Algorithmic Timeline

On Wednesday, Twitter officially added a Facebook-like algorithmic timeline that will reorder users’ tweets to cater to each user’s general interests. Twitter confirmed the changes Wednesday, clarifying that the feature is at first optional, like the “moments” and “while you were away” functions that have popped up in recent months. Users will have to opt-in for now, but in the “coming weeks” it will be spread to all accounts. There will allegedly be a way to disable the function entirely.
