Twitter has removed more accounts linked to Alex Jones and Infowars, the company said, days after The Daily Beast reported the conspiracy theory site was still active on the social network. Jones and his outlet were permanently banned from Twitter and Periscope in September after years of inventing and spreading conspiracy theories about tragedies such as the Sandy Hook and Parkland shootings. Last week, The Daily Beast reported the accounts for InfoWars’ “Real News” show, the InfoWars store, and InfoWars’ “News Wars” were all still active on Twitter and had a combined following of over 25,000 people. Twitter confirmed to CNN Monday that it had removed 18 more accounts affiliated with Jones.
