Twitter has suspended the personal account of Infowars host Alex Jones for seven days after he tweeted a link to a video urging supporters to grab their “battle rifles.” The conspiracy theorist will still be allowed to monitor Twitter but will be barred from posting anything from his account, the Associated Press reports. The Twitter account for Infowars is still operating freely on the social-media platform, despite a growing backlash against Jones’ hate speech by Facebook, Apple, Spotify, and YouTube. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey was widely criticized last week for defending the company’s decision not to ban Jones by saying the far-right provocateur has not violated any rules.
