Two coalition personnel dead and five injured by IED, Pentagon says.
Rodi Said/Reuters
Two coalition personnel have been killed and five wounded by an improvised explosive device in Syria, the Pentagon announced early Friday. Officials told CBS News that one of the troops killed was an American. The incident occurred Thursday night and wounded personnel are being evacuated for further medical treatment. The statement gave no details about where the explosion occurred and didn’t say if the casualties are Americans, but a Syrian official told the Associated Press that a roadside bomb exploded in the mixed Arab-Kurdish town of Manbij.
