Two marines were killed Saturday night when an Arizona training mission went awry, The Marine Corps said in a Sunday press release. At about 8:45 p.m. last night, the two pilots were reportedly conducting a routine training exercise as part of the Weapons and Tactics Instructor course when an AH-1Z Viper helicopter crashed near Yuma, Arizona. It’s not yet clear why the crash occurred; the Corps is still investigating. The names of the deceased will be withheld for 24 hours while their families are notified.
