Uber has reportedly bid as much as $3 billion on digital mapping service Here, the New York Times reported Thursday, citing three people familiar with the offer. The Nokia-owned service is the main competitor to Google Maps and is expected to announce the sale of its mapping business by the end of May. A consortium of German automakers including BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz are reportedly teaming up with Chinese search engine Baidu on a bid, according to two people, while another bid from an undislosed private equity firm has also been submitted.
