Uber, the popular taxi service ordered via a smartphone app, is launching today in Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh. But don’t expect any female drivers to show up—women are still not allowed to drive in the kingdom. That is unlikely to prevent Uber from being a success in the country, which lacks major public-transportation systems, and cabs in the major cities are often in rough condition. Uber is now available in 100 cities around the world.
