U.K. Diplomatic Team Released

Well, they did succeed in making contact with the rebels. A British diplomatic team, including six SAS soldiers, have been released after being detained by Libyan rebels. The team was dropped in Benghazi by helicopter early Friday morning in an attempt to make contact with the leaders of Gaddafi's opposition, but they were detained by rebels when they were found carrying arms, ammunition, explosives, maps, and passports from at least four different countries, witnesses said. "They were carrying espionage equipment, reconnaissance equipment, multiple passports, and weapons,” said a senior member of Benghazi's revolutionary council. “This is no way to conduct yourself during an uprising.” U.K. Foreign Secretary William Hague said the team had “experienced difficulties, which have now been satisfactorily resolved,” and that they intended to send another mission “in consultation with the opposition.”
