A Ukranian air force commander was abducted after pro-Russian forces stormed a base in Crimea, the country’s interim president said Sunday. The Belbek air force base, of which Col. Yuliy Mamchur was commander, was taken Saturday by forces who rammed armored cars through its walls and fired gunshots and stun grenades. It was unclear if the assault was conducted by the Russian military or by a local pro-Russian militia. Several journalists on the scene, including international press, were beaten by the attackers.
