The government of Ukraine and rebels backed by Russia have reached a ceasefire deal, President Poroshenko announced Friday. The ceasefire in the east of Ukraine comes after rebels tried to take the port city of of Mariupol and defend their stronghold in Donetsk. Meanwhile, Ukraine's military spokesman said 2,000 Russian servicemen have been killed so far in the fighting, a surprisingly high number given the total of 2,600 to have died, according to the United Nations.
