Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko announced Wednesday that the majority of Russian forces have left eastern Ukraine. He also announced to his cabinet that some parts of the east that remain in rebel control would get special status. “According to the latest information I have received from our intelligence, 70 percent of Russian troops have been moved back across the border,” Poroshenko said. “This further strengthens our hope that the peace initiatives have good prospects.” However, Poroshenko did warn that peace will be tough to maintain, as fighters he called “terrorists” are continually trying to provoke Kiev. Just last night, there were at least six violations of the ceasefire.
