Alaska State Troopers (AST) alerted residents of the Kodiak to take extra care to secure their homes and other precious items, namely their underwear. During the past week “various items such as women's underwear have been stolen and or rifled through,” said an AST dispatch on Wednesday. “While investigating these crimes, AST has also learned that other citizens of Kodiak have encountered similar events in the recent months; however, they were not reported to law enforcement.” Resident Hannah Clark said she noticed some of her personal items appeared to have been moved around when she would return from fishing trips over the summer and that her underwear had gone missing, but she hadn’t connected it to burglary until now. She said she can’t believe "there's an actual underwear bandit."
