Unemployment Claims Fall

DWINDLING

Only 332,000 file for new benefits.

More evidence that the labor market is improving. First-time unemployment claims fell to 332,000 last week. And the four-week moving average, which smoothes out variations, fell to 346,750. Compared with a year ago, the number of Americans receiving unemployment benefits is down 1.8 million, or nearly 25 percent.
