UnitedHealth Group Inc. announced that it will reduce its presence from 34 states to "only a handful" of the Affordable Care Act marketplaces by next year, suggesting the company cannot operate under as efficiently under the law. The decision comes as the company suffered huge losses in the 2016 exchange market, now projecting a $650 million shortfall. Chief Executive Stephen J. Hemsley made the announcement during the company's earnings conference call.
