Fake money sure goes a long way these days. California’s Draper University, which prides itself on being an unconventional school, is the first institution to accept bitcoins for tuition. “Bitcoin was really easy to accept,” a Draper spokesperson told higher-education magazine Campus Technology. “It only makes sense that we assist in the development of the most innovative concepts.” And it’s not the only nontraditional currency the school is taking. Draper also welcomes barter, equity, profit sharing, and even advertising tradeouts, according to the school’s press release. What's next, Monopoly money?
