One U.S. civilian aide was killed at police headquarters in Kabul on Monday by a woman wearing an Afghan police uniform. The same day, at least five local police were killed by another officer in a separate attack in northern Afghanistan. The two incidents are just the latest rogue insider attacks by Afghan security forces against their own colleagues or foreign personnel. In fact, Afghans in police or army uniforms have killed more than 50 members of the NATO initiative in the country. But Monday’s shooting in Kabul was the first carried out by a woman. The suspected shooter has been detained and is believed to have Taliban ties.
