We hope Kim Jong Il isn’t waiting by the phone: The U.S. is rejecting China’s request for emergency talks with North Korea, arguing that it would reward North Korea for its deadly artillery attack on South Korea. The move is a rebuke to China, which is attempting to remain neutral despite international pressure. Meanwhile, the WikiLeaks dump shows a South Korean diplomat predicting that the North will fall two to three years after Kim Jong Il dies and that Chinese leaders will be OK with a reunified Korea.
