Gooooal! In a stunning upset, the U.S. beat Spain, the world's best-ranked team, in a memorable semifinal match at the Confederate Cup tournament in South Africa. The win ended the reigning Europeans champions' 15-match winning streak and 35-match unbeaten streak. The 2-0 victory, described as "an absolute stunner" by ESPN, featured goals from Jozy Altidore and Clint Dempsey and a strong defensive effort from the team in keeping the elite Spanish team scoreless. Earlier in the week, the U.S. pulled off an improbable three-goal win over Egypt to end up in the tournament semifinals. On Sunday the team will play Brazil or South Africa for the cup.
