June was the deadliest month in Iraq for U.S. troops in two years, and U.S. military commanders blame Iran for the uptick in violence. Insurgents have been using more advanced weapons, including powerful rockets and armor piercing grenades, that U.S. officials say are coming from Iran. A spokesman for the U.S. military in Iraq says the insurgents are even being trained by Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps special forces. Outgoing Defense Secretary Robert Gates says Iran is "facilitating weapons, they're facilitating training, there's new technology that they're providing. They're stepping this up, and it's a concern."
