No one wants a second Benghazi so the U.S. is deploying 1,000 Marines and a warship off the coast of Libya in the event that the American embassy must be evacuated. The USS Bataan will arrive "in a matter of days" in a "precautionary" move as turmoil rises in Libya, according to a defense official. The embassy is operating normally even as a rogue general has launched an offensive against Islamist militias.
