American Green Berets were involved in a firefight with ISIS militants in Niger in December, The New York Times reports, in an incident that the Pentagon never disclosed. The firefight came just two months after four American troops were killed after a group of soldiers was ambushed in the country. Eleven ISIS fighters were killed in the firefight. A spokeswoman for the U.S. Africa Command told the Times that no Americans or Nigerians were killed or injured.
