U.S. Economy Grows 1.7 Percent

YEAH, BABY

Better than expected for second quarter.

Despite government cuts and high import numbers, the U.S. economy expanded at a 1.7 percent pace in the second quarter, up from 1.1 percent in the first. Strong housing, consumer demand, and a robust stock market contributed to the growth. In addition, last year’s GDP numbers were revised up from 2.2 percent to 2.8 percent.
