The U.S. Coast Guard and Navy have confirmed that a rescue effort is underway after a Navy helicopter crashed 18 miles off the coast of Virginia Beach. The helicopter was carrying five people on board. It is a CH-53E, which is used for moving heavy equipment. The helicopter was reported down around 11 a.m., and there has been no word about casualties.
