A senior U.S. official tells The Daily Beast that there are “no specific, credible threats to the homeland” at this time. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to share the information publicly.
The official added that the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI are closely monitoring the unfolding events in Paris.
“We remain in contact with our counterparts in the region,” the official said. “At this time, there is no specific or credible threat to the United States. We will not hesitate to adjust our security posture, as appropriate, to protect the American people,” if that changes.
