Is Jan Brewer serious about solving her state’s immigration crisis? The Arizona governor sat out on a conference of U.S. and Mexican border governors today, along with Texas’ Rick Perry and California’s Arnold Schwarzenegger. The only U.S. border governor to attend was New Mexico’s Bill Richardson, who organized the summit himself. All six governors from Mexico’s border states attended. Brewer, possibly trying to spin the bad publicity, told Spanish media outlet Univision that she was disappointed that Mexican politicians wouldn't attend a conference that she had organized. “Not only am I concerned, it’s really disappointing to me,” she said. “I’ve lived in the Southwest my whole life. I’ve got many friends, of many cultures and certainly a great deal of them are Hispanics, and I love them from the bottom of my heart. I love everybody, Jorge, from the bottom of my heart.”
