This probably won’t help ease the tension between Fox News and the Obama administration: Government lawyers are bringing Rupert Murdoch’s network to court over allegations that it retaliated against a female reporter for bringing up a claim of gender bias. In 2007, Catherine Herridge filed a grievance against the network, claiming that she received unfair pay and job conditions based on her gender. Fox News dismissed Herridge’s claim, but later wrote language into her employment contract that suggested they were trying to prevent her from making any more such demands. Herridge refused the new contract, and the network is now being sued by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
