An American doctor kidnapped by the Taliban was rescued in a raid by U.S. forces Sunday, according to a statement from the NATO force in Afghanistan. Intelligence showed that Dr. Dilip Joseph was “in imminent danger of injury or death,” causing U.S. Gen. John Allen to order the raid, according to the statement. Joseph was abducted in Kabul province Wednesday, according to the statement. “Today’s mission exemplifies our unwavering commitment to defeating the Taliban,” Allen said.
