Now that’s what you call passing the baton with style. The U.S. women’s 4x100 meter relay team won gold in their Olympic race Friday. The team also set a new world record: 40.82 seconds. By the race’s super-speedy standards, Jamaica’s relay team was left in the dust, finishing .23 seconds later to earn silver. The U.S. team’s new world record obliterates the old top time of 41.37 seconds set by East Germany in 1985.
