Star sprinter Usain Bolt of Jamaica has set a new record for the 100m indoors with a time of 9.98 seconds, beating the runner-up by over half a second. The previous record for indoors was 10.05 seconds, which was set by Namibian runner Frankie Fredericks in 1996. This makes Bolt the first runner to ever break the 10 second barrier for the indoor race. He is also the world record holder for the 100m outdoors with 9.58 seconds.
