The prime suspect in the disappearance of University of Virginia student Hannah Graham has been linked to a 2009 abduction and murder of another Virginia college student. State police said forensic evidence links Jesse Matthew to the case of Morgan Harrington, a Virginia Tech student who went missing during a visit to Charlottesville, where UVA is located. Matthew’s arrest in the Graham case has “provided a significant break” in the Harrington case, “with a new forensic link for state police investigators to pursue,” officials said in a statement. Harrington’s DNA was collected from remains discovered three months after she went missing. A student at Liberty University in Lynchburg also accused Matthew of raping her in 2002. Police are in their third week of looking for Graham.
