Approximately 200,000 ex-felons will have their voting rights restored in time for the presidential elections, Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced Friday. McAuliffe, a Democrat, signed an executive order overturning legislation that barred people with prior felony convictions from voting in Virginia. The order will allow an estimated 180,000 to 220,000 ex-felons to vote in the November elections, provided they are not currently in prison, on parole, or on probation.
