Megrim Igarashi, better known as the Vagina kayak artist, was arrested Wednesday by Tokyo police for trying to get finances for her plan to build a kayak inspired by her genitals using a 3D printer. She was already arrested and released in July for trying to raise funds online to build the boat. A sex-shop manager was also arrested for “displaying obscene goods in her shop window in collusion with Igarashi.” While Japan is notorious for its pornography industry, it still has obscenity laws that forbid the depiction of actual genitalia.
