Van der Sloot Confesses to Lima Murder

Joran van der Sloot, the Dutchman who was suspected in the disappearance of American high schooler Natalee Holloway in Aruba five years ago, has confessed to killing a young woman in Lima, Peruvian police say. Reports say Van der Sloot beat Stephany Flores, 21, to death in a hotel room May 30 because she looked up information about his past on his laptop. “I did not want to do it. The girl intruded into my private life," Van der Sloot told police, according to La Republica newspaper. The confession was offered on the third day Van der Sloot, 22, was in police custody in exchange for a lighter sentence.
