Joran van der Sloot’s Peruvian attorney quit Tuesday, saying he received death threats through email. “I'm an older person. This isn't for me," Maximo Altez, 54, told the Associated Press. He said he will officially stop representing Van der Sloot, 22, when his family arrives in Peru over the next few days. His infamous client, who confessed last week to the murder of Stephany Flores, is being held in a segregated block of a maximum security prison in eastern Lima.
