A van reportedly plowed through a crowd Thursday in Barcelona’s crowded Las Ramblas tourist area, leaving many casualties in its wake. Local newspaper El Pais reported at least a dozen fatalities and 20+ wounded; and claimed that the driver fled on foot following the incident. Mossos d’Esquadra, the Catalan police force, said they are treating the attack as terrorism. Multiple reports suggest authorities are looking for a second van as well. The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack on its Aamaq news agency, the AP reported.
