Rep. Chris Van Hollen won a key Democratic Senate primary in Maryland, defeating Rep. Donna Edwards on Tuesday to succeed retiring Sen. Barbara Mikulski. Van Hollen is likely to do well in the general election in a state where Democrats outnumber Republicans 2-1.
