Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said Sunday he would free a jailed opposition leader if the United States would release a Puerto Rican nationalist. “The only way I would use [presidential] powers would be to put [Leopoldo Lopez] on a plane, so he can go to the United States and stay there, and they would give me Oscar Lopez Rivera—man for a man,” Maduro said on television Sunday. Rivera, who is being held in a U.S. prison, was convicted of seditious conspiracy in 1981, while Lopez was jailed last year during a wave of anti-government protests.
