Verizon Communications Inc. is among the companies interested in buying Yahoo as the web company looks at alternatives to its struggling business model. Previously, Marissa Mayer, Yahoo's chief executive, said that a sale wasn't the most likely scenario, but the company is expected to make an announcement Tuesday with plans that include considering selling off a portion of its web properties.
