The cult-favorite crime series Veronica Mars might be getting a reboot on the streaming platform Hulu, according to a Tuesday report from Entertainment Weekly. The hit show, which starred Kristen Bell as a smart, sarcastic teen who helped her private investigator father solve the crimes of California’s rich and famous, ran for three seasons before it was canceled in 2007. In 2013, Bell and director Rob Thomas launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund a film sequel for the series, surpassing their $2 million goal to raise $5.7 million in total. The film was released the following year. Entertainment Weekly notes that the deal has not yet been finalized, and it is not yet known how many episodes or seasons the reboot would include. Sources told the magazine, however, that the deal would not impact Bell’s role on NBC’s The Good Place.
