It was a sad day for the Occupy protests yesterday, with a suicide at a Burlington, Vt., camp and a deadly shooting at Occupy Oakland. At the Burlington protest, police say a 35-year-old military veteran fatally shot himself in the head. The city closed half of City Hall Park and—after a brief confrontation between police and protesters—put an end to all camping while police investigate. Meanwhile in Oakland, a fight between two groups of men outside the protest encampment left one man dead. Protest organizers say the groups were unrelated to the protest.
