An elite private school in the Bronx is under fire after several students reportedly took part in a video that showed them using “racist, homophobic, and misogynistic language," the New York Daily News reports. Ethical Culture Fieldston School in Riverdale confirmed Monday that a group of its seniors were involved in the recording, which reportedly shows three male students off-campus repeating the phrase “crack n---r.” The head of the school, Jessica L. Bagby, wrote in a schoolwide email that the language was a “clear violation of our community values and expectations” and vowed to take “decisive action” against the students, one of whom is said to have already withdrawn. The email also said a former student was among those involved in the video, which was shot “a few years ago.” Fieldston spokesman Davidson Goldin declined to comment on how the current students would be disciplined. The video emerged just a little more than a month after a blackface video went viral at another private school in New York, Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn.
