A man has been arrested in Germany on suspicion of committing the rape and murder of Bulgarian investigative journalist Viktoria Marinova. Marinova, who reported on an investigation into alleged corruption involving EU funds, disappeared after going for a run Saturday. Bulgaria’s prosecutor general confirmed the arrest of a Bulgarian man named as Severin Krasimirov and said there was physical evidence to link him to the murder. Bulgarian police announced a Romanian citizen had been detained Tuesday, but later said he had no apparent connection with the case and would be freed. Marinova, 30, is the fourth journalist to be killed in Europe in the last 14 months.
